The Wayne State University Department of Physical Therapy offer a CAPTE accredited Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) program. The full time DPT program runs for 3.5 years or 10 continuous semesters, made up of 126 credit hours. The courses are taken in a step by step sequence so you are able to build your knowledge and skill set throughout the years. There is a part-time DPT program however it is only available on a limited basis. As a graduate program, it includes theoretical, clinical practice, and research courses and experiences, as well as 40 weeks of clinical placement.

Tuition Fees for the Wayne State University Physical Therapy program are $84,081.10 in total for Michigan residents and $164,948.35 for non-residents. There are also other university fees that must be paid each semester and the cost of any textbooks is additional. There are, of course, financial aid options available.

Student Life @: Wayne State University:

Wayne State University is located only 2 miles from the heart of Detroit City, MI. Its central location means that it is only a short walk or bike ride to many of the major attractions the city has to offer. There are many incredible and quirky restaurants, galleries, cafes, music hangs and specialty shops all within walking distance. For bigger entertainment opportunities you can wander down to watch professional hockey, baseball or football teams or you could attend a Broadway play, symphony or orchestra. In a thriving multicultural metro area like Detroit, the choices are endless.

If you are keen on campus life Wayne State University has several different options for accommodation including furnished and unfurnished apartments. They are all conveniently within 5 min walk of classes, computer labs and Student Centre as well as the recreation and fitness centre. The Mort Harris Recreation and Fitness Center boasts a 78,000 square foot open fitness area with a variety of cardio, selectorized and free weight equipment. It also has a climbing wall, full size Gymnasium with basketball and volleyball courts, a walking track and fitness area. The rec centre also has overnight adventure programs that cater for skiing , rock climbing, rafting and kayaking. To complement this the Matthaei Centre offers a swimming pool, 2 full size gymnasiums, weight room, squash courts, indoor and outdoor tennis facilities, sprint track and outdoor intramural fields.

Don’t forget about getting involved in one or more of over 250 student run organisations.
