About

The Florida A&M University Physical Therapy Department offers a CAPTE accredited Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) program. It will take you 3 years or 9 semesters to complete 103 units including over 1200hrs of clinical internships staged throughout the 2nd and 3rd years.

The cost of tuition is approximately $13,430 per year for in state residents totalling $40290 for the three years. For out of state students the DPT program will set you back $26314 a year or $78942 in total. You will also be required to pay more for other university fees and textbooks if you wish to purchase them.

As the Florida A&M University Pt School did not respond to the US News’ best physical therapy school rankings questionnaire they did not receive a result.

Student Life
Tallahassee is the home of FAMU, located in the rolling green hills of northern Florida. There are around 14000 students that attend the 419 acre campus. The male to female ratio is 2:3 and more than 85% of students are African American. FAMU has competitive teams that contest in the Mid Eastern Athletic Conference in both men’s and women’s sports. There is good support for these teams and students are encouraged to make this a part of their university experience. There is limited accommodation on campus including halls, apartments, fraternities and married student housing with the average room rent being around $2025 per semester. There are also off campus options available.

There is many recreational activities available in Tallahassee including mountain biking, golf, running trails, tennis and swimming. You can also visit the many historical museums or see a show at the performing arts center.
